Join Wade Oakley at Mysore Tampa Bay
for a weekend exploring the rich tradition of Ashtanga Yoga with a particular focus on using strength training principles to support sustainable, long-term practice.
Wade began practicing in 2012 at the University of Virginia under Certified teacher John Bultman, and since 2014 he has made many extended trips to Mysore, India, to study with R. Sharath Jois. In 2018, Wade was granted Level 2 Authorization by Sharathji. He returns to Mysore regularly, most recently assisting in the 2025-2026 tribute season. To honor his late teacher, he continues to practice and share Ashtanga in the spirit and tradition carried forward from Mysore to communities around the world.
Wade teaches with the belief that practice is not separate from life but a foundation for it. A yoga sadhana is precious, something to be cultivated and carefully tended like a garden: nourishing, challenging, and ultimately sustaining. His approach encourages curiosity, attentiveness, and a sense of personal ownership, with the conviction that Ashtanga can be a boundless source of strength, clarity, and enrichment throughout life
