A traditional method of teaching Ashtanga Yoga that unfolds the series to each practitioner on an individual basis. Mysore is a city in the South of India where Ashtanga Yoga came from. Ashtanga yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures, a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light, and strong body, and a calm mind

Introduction to the Primary Series. Ashtanga consists of a sequence of postures taken from the primary series flow developed by K. Pattabhi Jois. The intention is that by giving the students a set sequence that they can learn, they will be able to make the practice meditative while focusing on their breathwork to gain both the spiritual and physiological benefits of yoga. Beginners are welcome.
